Longstanding PSU client Romans Property Services Group recently raised £26,000 for worthy causes at their Fundraising Dinner and Charity Auction held at Trunkwell Manor at Beech Hill.
More than 200 guests from the world of property, finance and the media bid high stakes for prizes donated by industry. £3,000 was raised for a day's racing at Sandown, a chance to meet chat show host Michael Parkinson at a recording of his LWT show raised £1,000, whilst £1,500 was raised for a hairdo at top hairdresser Nicky Clarke's Mayfair Salon, followed by lunch at Gordon Ramsey's Petrus Restaurant.
Proceeds were split equally between the Royal Berkshire Hospital's Dingley Child Development Assessment Centre and the Thames Valley and Chilterns Air Ambulance Trust.
The Chilterns Air Ambulance Trust is a completely charitable organisation which provides an air ambulance that covers much of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, North Hampshire and Surrey, and which each year flies in excess of 1,200 missions. Steve Horton, the director of fund raising, advised that the £13,000 will help find the air ambulance's running cost for one week and as a result, approximately 31 lives will be saved.
The Dingley Children's Unit at the Royal Berkshire Hospital is a facility which provides opportunities for disabled children with learning difficulties to receive specialist treatment and care. The unit is relocating to the Royal Bershire Hospital and is aiming to raise £80,000 to facilitate this move. The £13,000 raised for the Dingley Unit is therefore a large proportion of the amount they needed.
