November Comment

This month we take a look at two essential areas of business; disaster recovery planning and telephone system abuse. Ken brings us his second motivational article focussing on creating and keeping contacts, Jon interviews Kate on her burgeoning music career, Paul looks into how to preplan for unavoidable staff absences and our client focus this month is on Ringways 3 Peaks adventure. Finally, congratulations go out to Peter at Scottish Courage for winning last months caption competition. All comments and suggestions for future articles to news@psu.uk.com

Disaster Recovery ...... and avoidance

Following the success of his last article on Microsoft Vista, Nigel Stoddart (Regional Business Manager) takes a look at how PSU can help to review, advise and implement a cost effective disaster recovery plan. With the fire at Bristol based Aardman Animations still fresh in everyones mind, companies should start to address the issue and plan for the unexpected.

System Abuse and Free Online Call Analysis

For anyone who has the responsibility of wading through reams of paper analyzing their phone bill, we have the ideal time saving solution. PSU clients can enjoy free online call analysis which will help you whizz through the task and still be on the first tee by 3 o'clock. Michael Lounton explains how it has become an invaluable management tool for many of our clients.

Make more contacts, find more business

In this month's article, Ken takes a look at the importance of making and nurturing contacts to enable you to find more business. Increasing your contacts is both a concept and a specific activity, which, if understood and successfully implemented, can mean big things for your business.

An essential read for all sales people

Meet the Team - Kate Emerson

This month Jon Pople dons his Rolling Stone hat and interviews Kate Emerson, one of PSU's hard working sales team. When she's not looking after customers, Kate heads for the recording studio to lay down vocals for the forthcoming EP due out in the New Year.

Four Weddings and a Sales Target

With two regional business managers getting married over the last three months and the third about to get married, Paul Valentine, Sales Director at PSU investigates how to preplan your business to avoid sales shortfalls. It should also be mentioned that Paul's wedding this Autumn made up the four.

Customer News - Ringway - Three Peaks

In May this year a team of 5 walkers and 3 support crew from The Ringway Group took part in the 2005 3 Peaks Challenge helping to raise £6,000 for Care International. The challenge is to climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours! (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon respectively). Congratulations to the whole team who successfully completed the course in 24 hours, 8 minutes. - (PSU currently support Ringways telecommunication requirements throughout their UK operations).

Caption Competition Result

Many thanks for all the entries we received for last month's caption competition. In the end we decided to award two first prizes, so congratulations to Peter Roberts at Scottish Courage for:

"Standing out like a nun in a blizzard, Joe rued the day that the army surplus salesman had convinced him that desert warfare fatigues were all the rage"

...and to Jon Sanders at Spirax Sarco for:

"Lads I have a plan..... we may not have our guns, but we can out smart the opposition, by using our fingers as guns!"

A bottle of Champagne will be on it's way to Peter and Jon tonight.
